The cleaning process is a four step process that allows the radiance of the rug to be revealed. It is recommended that rugs in high traffic areas should be cleaned at least once every 12 months to remove common stains and improve the luster of the wool. Rugs in areas with less foot traffic can be cleaned every 18 to 24 months. Common cleaning products on the market today generally are not designed to effectively clean wool used in handmade rugs and may cause bleeding or color distortion.
Deodorizing is also available for rugs which may have sustained pet stains or have absorbed other unpleasant odors.
Scotch guarding is a preventative measure to help reduce the likelihood of staining due to spills and foot traffic.
